John Leland's account
The traveller Leland recorded a few details of her life from a manuscript once kept at the church in Breage in Cornwall which she had founded. She was apparently born in Lagonia (perhaps Laois) and became a nun at Saint Brigid's foundation at 'Campus Breacae' in Ireland. She later travelled to Cornwall with a large company of Irish saints, among them Sinwin, Germoe, Elwen, Saint Crowan, and Helan. She lived first in Pencaire, Tregonning Hill, then Trenwith and Talmeneth, where she built churches, before finally settling at Breage. She is thought to have been born about 486 AD.
