Deskrivadur

Married to Louis-Phillipe, proclaimed king in July, 1830, she was the last queen to live in Trianon.

In the portrait, Marie-Amélie is depicted in the park of the palace of Neuilly accompanied by her two youngest sons, the duc d’Aumale (1822-1897), in the uniform of the light infantry, and the duc de Montpensier (1824-1890), in an artilleryman's uniform.

The austerity of her face and her black dress trimmed with lace harmoniously contrasts with her hat trimmed with feathers. On her belt, she wears a "chatelaine", very fashionable during the Romantic period, a chain on which hang useful or decorative items.
